Carousel and the Tate

Carousel is the latest innovation resulting from the partnership between the Tate and BT. It provides a new way for the general visitor to search online collections. Visitors are presented with a visual interface showing nine random artworks, with one of the artworks changing every couple of seconds.

If you select an image, the images generated by Carousel will follow similar themes, hopefully providing the visitor with an easy way to find new works that will interest them.

This is a genuinely novel approach that would appear to have lots of potential when fully developed.
